Hanger For Visually Impaired

The blind normally use sensory stimuli to feel the different types of cloths’ fabric texture and neckline. How about colors?

Many activities can be adapted so that they are accessible to the blind. For example, they have the braille system for them to read words, cube puzzleswith 3D tactile and braille poker game cards.

But how do they pick their clothing? How do they know the colour of a shirt? Through out researches, the blind normally use sensory stimuli to feel the different type of cloths’ fabric texture and neckline. Sometimes they also attach accessories or decoration manually to their clothing to remember the cloth‘s charateristic. It also has something called Braille Label or Tactile Markers, sewn on the shirt and providing information of the cloth. However, this causes trouble for them to touch every piece of cloth and mess up the whole wardrobe. The blind can sense the type of cloth but never sense color.

Here comes the design of “Hang Your Color” hanger that be adapted for the blind. Combination of braille and colour symbol on the hanger to help blind easily recognise colour of clothing. It also functional to the to the blind and also useful for the color blinds.
